Official: Transport Min to discuss jet fuel price jump next week

MOSCOW, Aug 12 (PRIME) -- The Russian Transport Ministry will discuss a sharp rise of jet fuel prices with the Energy Ministry, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, airlines and suppliers next week, a representative of the ministry told reporters on Wednesday.

The Association of Air Transport Users (AEVT) asked Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh in a letter to check whether the current jet fuel price jump is justified. According to the letter, prices in some airports grew by 50–60%.

The representative of the ministry said, "The application of AEVT has arrived to the Transport Ministry of Russia. The questions in this address by the association, including the data of tenders pointing to big growth of jet fuel and lubricants prices in the airports of Siberia and the Far East require deep analysis and will be discussed at meetings of the workgroup."
